Slip Fit Flex Connectors
Try saying that three times quickly! That's what the
customer requested, so that's what we made. Turns out the fan was already
being built with a plain slip-fit inlet.
Since
there would be no flange to bolt to, there was no reason to have flanges on the
flexible connector. We sized steel bands to slide over the inlet ring on
the fan and the ductwork. Once installed the customer plans to run a few
bolts to hold things in place.
Not every request needs great engineering, but our desire to say
"Yes" is constant.
