Flexible Connector for Dirty Air

Flexible connectors in particle laden airstreams have always been a headache.  The particulate tends to eat away at the sleeve material and finally makes a hole.  

has the solution.  A particulate shield protects the sleeve while still allowing the connector to function as designed.  Vibration from the fan is not transmitted to the ductwork and thermal expansion occurs without a problem.

The connector shown has flanges and a particulate shield of 304 stainless steel.  The sleeve is two layers of Teflon coated fiberglass, which is gas-tight and good to 500°F.
