Dirty Air Silencers

Silencers typically contain some type of absorption media.  To allow the sound to reach the media, most silencers are constructed with internal walls or panels of perforated plate.  However, the holes in these plates could also allow dust and dirt to reach the media.  Depending on the amount of material in the airstream this can clog the media and gradually reduce the effectiveness of the silencer.

The customer expressed concern that the dust in his system would present just such a problem.  Well, it's not a problem for BAM!  We simply added a layer of heavy gauge Mylar film that keeps out the dust while allowing the silencer to still do it's job.

Shown here during fabrication it is 14 inches in diameter and over 7 feet long.
